Middletown NY – Grand Opening weekend for the New Emporium Square Artisan Market exceeded the expectations of owner Orlando Lallave and his partner Barbara Martinez. The ceremony began with a well-attended ribbon cutting. Senator Jen Metzger and City of Middletown Mayor Joe DeStefano, along with Director of Economic Development Maria Bruni and City Council members were in attendance, to help them celebrate the opening of the new artisan market.

“We knew that the opening of our market was exactly what the community needed, so we are extremely pleased with the turnout and the support,” said Lallave. The moment we cut the ribbon, it was a powerful feeling to know we accomplished what I have been working on for almost two years,” added Lallave.

“Our goal is to support local small business, we are striving towards making our dreams and that of many others, a reality,” said Martinez. When you walk into our Emporium you will be greeted by crafter & maker boutiques, retail, local services at our Welcome Center, local art, unique foods & snacks, and event space. We invite everyone to be a part of the experience, added Martinez.

Emporium Square Artisan Market will be open Saturdays and Sundays 9 am-6 pm.

Merchant locations are still available and they are actively seeking unique crafters and makers.
